Two Dubai Aerospace Enterprise Businesses and Lockheed Martin Agree to Explore Aviation Opportunities in Emerging Markets

DUBAI - Two of six Dubai Aerospace Enterprise business divisions – DAE University and DAE Services – have agreed to work with Lockheed Martin to explore aviation education advancements and the potential integration of proven business practices and technologies into new markets of mutual interest.

The markets of mutual interest include the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Region, India, and China. DAE officials and Lockheed Martin representatives signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreements today during an international air show in Dubai.

The agreements will enable Lockheed Martin staff based in Rockville, Maryland to explore aviation-related opportunities with personnel at the two DAE businesses in the United Arab Emirates.

Through one agreement, the parties will work toward incorporating Lockheed Martin best business practices into the university’s Centre for Management Education curriculum to augment DAE University's executive-level education in the GCC. Particular emphasis will be placed on program management procedures and aerospace systems engineering development.

“Vital operations and management components of DAE University’s instructional mix, which are so relevant to emerging global airline needs, will be reinforced through the cooperative relationship,” said Dr. George H. Ebbs, DAE University President and Chief Executive Officer.

The other agreement establishes a collaborative working relationship with DAE Services, an emerging solutions provider in the aviation industry supplying technology based products and services for airlines and airports. Commercial opportunities will be explored for airline and airport systems, services and products based on Lockheed Martin’s proven air traffic management and aviation operations experience.

“Our agreements with Lockheed Martin will allow us to collaborate and maximise future aviation and aeronautic opportunities throughout the international market place,” noted Dr. Kamilia Sofia, acting Chief Executive Officer for DAE Services.

“The GCC and Asia-Pacific regions play a significant role in our strategic vision. We are excited to be part of the enormous growth taking place in the UAE, India and China,” added Jay Dragone, Vice President of Business Development for Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions.
